Hejsan från Stockholm!

Hanna Yoon-self

Hej! Jag heter Hanna och jag kommer från LA i kalifornien i USA. Jag studerar statsvetenskap på Haverford College i Pennsylvania.

Translation:

Hey from Stockholm!

Hi! My name is Hanna and I’m from LA, California, USA. I study political science at Haverford College in Pennsylvania. (Needless to say, we have been covering material very quickly in our intensive Swedish Language class in the first few days.)

Along with a major in political science, I also have a concentration in Peace, Justice, and Human Rights and a track on pre-med studies. I’ve come to Stockholm for the semester to immerse myself in Scandinavian life and culture. I’m staying with a host family in the northern suburbs of the city and my core course with DIS is Gender and Sexuality Studies taught by Anna Cavallin. I’ll be a student blogger (and photographer) for DIS Stockholm for the Gender, Equality, and Sexuality course, which means some of my weekly blog posts and photographs may center a little more on the course and related field studies.

But really, who am I??

I am a 20-year old student-adult who has a love/hate relationship with politics and watches too much drama and adult swim shows. I love all types of music (except country, sorry) and most of my spendings go toward indie-alt or EDM concerts/festivals. I stand at a whopping 5’2″ but possibly hold the stomach of a 6′ man, In-N-Out and boba being the main two menus that fill it. I am a complete California girl at heart and can’t ever stay away from the sprawling coast and enchanting forests for too long. But I’ve also been loving Stockholm in the week that I’ve been here, so who’s to say that I may never leave California?!

During the time that I’m here, I hope I can share lots of unique, interesting findings of Stockholm with you. I’ve had a fantastic opportunity to come here and the entirety of the DIS team has been so wonderful helping us get settled into our spaces here in Stockholm.

If you’d like to see more of the pictures I’ll be taking while at Stockholm, you can go here, but I’ll be showing snippets of them through these blog posts.

Until then, hejdo! Vi sees! (Goodbye! Talk you to later!)
