One of my favorite things about Stockholm is the fact that I’m so close to water all the time. The archipelago, which is just outside of the city, is made up of about 30,000 islands filled with forests, beaches, and homes. I decided to take a day trip out to the island of Vaxholm, which is commonly referred to as the capital of the archipelago.
There are a lot of cool places to go in Vaxholm, but I mostly just walked around and enjoyed the little town filled with cute houses and lots of boats. Since the weather has been fantastic lately, there were a bunch of other people who had the same idea!
And of course, I took a quick lunch break to indulge in some classic Swedish meatballs! If you ever come to Sweden, I highly recommend trying this dish. It’s one of my favorites, and like I said – classic!
It was a fun and relaxing trip through the archipelago – being out on the water and seeing a different part of Stockholm was just what I needed.
