Transportation: How To Check What Zones You Will Travel Through During a Journey

Please note that failure to present a valid ticket results in a 750 DKK fine, which DIS is not responsible for paying. For students with Commuter Cards: it is your responsibility to make sure your Commuter Card is valid and that you only travel in the correct zones.

To check what zones you will travel through during a journey, you can either use a web browser or a smartphone. Scroll down for the guide to checking zones via a smartphone.

Checking Transportation Zones on a Web Browser

  1. Open a web browser and go to Journey Planner (Rejseplanen)‘s website
  2. Type in your starting location in A and your destination in B. Select ‘Find’
  3. Under the journey you want to take (i.e. your preferred mode(s) of transportation), select ‘Show price’

4. A menu will appear. Select either ‘Commuter Card’ or ‘Single ticket.’ Both will give you the same results

5. Once you have selected an option, more options will appear. Scroll down and click ‘See the zones you travel in’

6. The zones required for your journey will appear

If you would like to use your Commuter Card for this journey, be sure to cross-reference these zones against the ones on your Commuter Card. If these zones are included in your Commuter Card, you are free to take this route. If not, you will need to buy a single-ride ticket or a one-zone extension ticket:

  1. Download the Journey Planner (Rejseplanen) app on Google Play or the App Store
  2. Open the Rejseplanen app
  3. Type in your starting location in A and your destination in B. Select ‘Search’

4. Click on the journey you want to take (i.e. your preferred mode(s) of transportation)
5. Select ‘Price’

6. A menu will appear. You can select either ‘Commuter Card’ or ‘Single ticket.’ Both will give you the same results

7. Once you have selected either ‘Commuter Card’ or ‘Single ticket,’ more options will appear. Scroll down and click ‘See the zones you travel in’

8. The zones requires for this journey will appear.
