Summer students arrived to Copenhagen on Sunday, and classes are already in full swing! Monday’s schedule was all about getting oriented into the city and to DIS; students met in inner city Copenhagen for the Opening Ceremony, and split off into groups to discover Copenhagen with the DIS Amazing Race. Stops included a visit to the royal residence, Amalienborg, a walk by famous Nyhavn in Kongens Nytorv, the picturesque Rosenborg Castle, and the Danish Parliament, Christiansborg Palace. Next up was picking up books and heading to class – making Monday a busy and exciting day.
Now, with Session 1 in full speed, the first few weeks of the summer at DIS will bring many stimulating field studies in and around Copenhagen, and countless debates within classroom discussions. Up next will be Session 2 and Session 3, and although slightly different from one another, both include a five-day, course-integrated study tour in Europe. The Architecture and Design Session, filled with cutting edge offerings and course-integrated study tours, will lead us to the end of summer at DIS.
With all these new faces at DIS, we were curious to get the scoop of what students were up to while spending the summer with us. So we thought – why not ask the students themselves, to share their experiences right here on the DIS blog! Here are the Student Writers who will update you with all there is to know about studying at DIS and living in Copenhagen in the summer time. Don’t be afraid to comment on their posts and ask questions!
